Addicting gameplay, loads of customization, and a ton of heart go into this underrated console classic
The customization and realism in the game is shocking, especially for a regular Xbox title. Albeit the game is initially more fun with the cheat codes to unlock clothes and items, it will make you feel like an uptight fashion designer as you meticulously create your Sim's clothing style and personality. It may take you a few hours to truly take in what the game is really offering in this area, since you DO have to get a job to earn money for said items, which is accomplished by reading the newspaper or using the computer.
One of the best parts of the game is its sense of self-realization. Each Sim has a name, and they speak in their own language. Even the music from their radios is in Sim language! You will hear it so much that you eventually begin to recognize certain words and phrases, like you're learning it. Also, every item that you can buy from the in-game store has its own name and description, and the game will make you chuckle with its signature tongue-in-cheek humor. All of this combined makes for a very enjoyable experience. Not to mention the butterflies in your stomach when you make your first romantic encounter with another Sim. Making 'woohoo' in the heart shaped bed is infinitley pleasing. Don't be alarmed, there is no nudity or harsh language. The game does an excellent job of making you feel four years old.
Bottom line is: this game is awesome. Don't let naysayers detour you.
