I think the developers of this game need to tweak a lot of elements in this so called Wrestling game.

User Rating: 2 | The Simpsons Wrestling PS
I've always wanted to have a Simpsons fighting game, and the only one available is The Simpsons Wrestling for the PlayStation 1. I recently bought this game at a local market where they sell old, cheap games. At first it was fun to play, but it got boring rather quickly.

The graphics in this game is abysmal because the character's outlines are broken up, and blocky looking. Also, the characters in the audience were just two dimensional cardboard cut-outs. Sometimes I've noticed that the character's moves go straight through the polygon models (other characters) especially when I knocked a character down.

However the game play is slightly better than the horrible graphics. Unfortunately, this game has no wrestling qualities except for being in a large ring. There are no grappling moves or special combo moves. You are just basically button mashing meaning you just press the same buttons over and over again. There are times when the AI opponents keep on jumping on your character's head, and there's no way to defend yourself. The only ways to defend yourself is grabbing power-ups that make you temporary invincible, or dodge your opponent. Also, there's a meter that drops every time your character jumps and attacks. It makes it even more difficult to pull off your large attack.

You also have a light, medium, and a heavy attack. Sometimes your character will move sloppy meaning the controls tend to get loose especially moving around the ring and bouncing off the ropes. There are to tag team matches either, and this game doesn't have a lot of modes either. I also almost forgot to mention that the game play is a little unbalanced because Ned Flanders cheats in this game. He uses his lightning attack, and it decreases your meter a lot, and it takes a few more rounds to defeat him.

Overall, the game play is not as bad as the Simpsons Skateboarding, but this game is way too short, and there are only a few modes to play. If you're a fan of wrestling, buy WWE Smack downonly ways to defend yourself is grabbing power-ups that make you temporary invincible, or dodge . If you're a fan of the Simpsons, buy Hit and Run, Road Rage, or The Simpsons Game. Those games are way better than this and The Simpsons Skateboarding.

Presentation - 1 When the title in a video game is a mistake, you know something's wrong right here. This game should just be called The Simpsons Fighter or something similar to it.

Graphics - 1 The graphics are abysmal, and the outlines are broken up meaning they rushed through making this game.

Sound - 2 The voices are straight up from the show, but the music is not very engaging. It doesn't even sound like The Simpsons theme music.

Game play - 5 The game play is loose and sloppy sometimes. They should of changed the concept of this game even more.

Lasting approval - 2 After you unlock all of the characters and the stages, there's little left to do. There is a multiplayer mode, but it gets old pretty quickly.

Overall: 2.2 out of 10 Game spot Score: 2.0
