Parents too strict about playing violent video games such as GTA but you want to play games like that? Well here's one!

User Rating: 7.5 | The Simpsons: Hit & Run PC
The Simpsons: Hit & Run honestly is a great game and borrows many aspects that the Grand Theft Auto franchise heavily uses. The clever thing is that the game includes all these features in a funny way which really makes this game more hilarious.

If your a fan of the show or simply want a less-violent (believe me, you will still see some old granny being knocked by your insane driving so it isn't completely violent-free) version of GTA, I'd recommend this fun sandbox style video games.

Graphics:
This is the key thing. How well did Sierra Entertainment do of transforming the 2D show into a 3D interactive package?
Due to the lack of technology 2003, it is quite a well achieved criteria Sierra has managed to tackle. Al though the graphics might put you off since at times the 3D Simpsons look freaky, the game does manage to stick to the same formula. Springfield looks lovely in 3D and exploring it's vast world and going past many of the famous landmarks seen in the show feels delightful.
However, I personally thought the game would've looked better if it was cell-shaded so it looks 2Dish but in fact has a 3D effect.

Controls and Camera:
The controls shouldn't take too long to get used to since it's very similar to the GTA control scheme and even if you haven't played GTA, it's only a matter of seconds before you learn all the tricks.
The camera was quite dissapointing to be honest. It is perfectly fine when free-roaming on foot but it truly sucks when your driving. It feels like the camera only wants to see the rear of the car rather than the front so you know if there's traffic or the ocassional kid crossing the street.

Physics engine:
I have to give some slack for this. I'm not entirely sure but I think the game runs on the Havok physics engine since I remember it feeling similar to Destroy All Humans! and it felt really great. Everything was insane, the people knocked of flying about like ragdolls, the cars crashing at such a speed, in fact taking turns on each street feels very sharp and I appreciate the games has this very cool engine which certainly makes the game even more fun and also adds to the original crazy Simpsons formula.

Presentation:
Nothing interesting, a radar and a health gouge. If the camera looked better during driving sequences, this game would've got more points from me.

Violence:
A fair amount. For a lil kid, it would be probably the coolest thing he/her has seen. Basically it's Grand Theft Auto 3, take away the blood.

Well, that's my review for this game. It could've been better if the graphics were changed a bit for a cleaner look and if the camera angles looked better rather than you having the manually adjust it every minute. The game isn't that long either so it could've been improved. I hope there's a sequel to this fantastic game, perhaps fixing all the wrongs this game provided.
