was fun when i was 8. i'm not 8 anymore, and this game is not fun anymore. did you see it costs $10??

i LOVED side scrolling beat 'em ups as a kid. i would waste all of my arcade money on them growing up. My favorites include Altered Beast, Golden Axe, Captain America and the Avengers, Aliens vs. Predator (still awesome to me) and of course The Simpsons. Problem is, i'm not a kid anymore. and of those games, only AvP still holds up for me and that's largely due to the HUGE amount of love i have for each franchise. but as a game it's a pretty basic beat 'em up even though the characters are wildly different and every character has a decent move set with multiple button combinations (like doing a quarter-circle forward and high attack to do a sliding uppercut).

you can't say the same about the simpsons though. it's value can literally only be valued by nostalgia and since the game only lasts 40 minutes, the feeling is gone FAST. once you're done you realize you just wasted $10 for a quick fix. that is the behavior of drug addicts, which makes Konami the shady guy on the corner pushing it on the public.

This is absolutely not worth $10. even if you got 3 friends together and you each threw down $2.50, this still wouldn't be worth the money. you can get MORE fun for your $10 on XBL or PSN from any number of classic arcade titles. if you NEED to play this game, google MAME and enjoy. do not pay $10 for this soulless trek down memory lane. it was a shameless cash-in on a popular franchise when it was released in 1991 and it's just a shallow, lame beat 'em up clone now.
