The Movies is one of the best tycoon games to come out in recent years. Its first expansion pack, Stunts and Effects, promises to give movie-makers more power and plenty of new stuff to use in their films. The biggest question is: is that enough? Yes. Stunts and Effects adds a lot of new scenes, costumes and more to the original game, but it's biggest addition is the stuntmen and stunt films. Stuntmen are basically extras that are trained to preform stunts. You can train them on stunts just like you train actors and can use them as stunt doubles for your most fragile actors. More action sequences have been added to scene selection that use these stuntmen and push them to their limits. If your stuntman get's banged up too much, you can send them to the hospital so they can heal. A number of special effect sets have also been added including a blue screen, a green screen, and a miniture city for those giant monster fight scenes you always wanted to do, but couldn't in the original version. With it's $30 pricetag and the host of new features, Stunts and Effects is easy to recomend for fans of The Movies.
Gameplay: This expansion pack adds a lot of new features that make The Movies' fantastic gameplay even better!
Graphics: It looks pretty much the same as the original version.
Sound: Ditto.
Value: It's $30, which isn't that much of a strech for an expansion pack, but that's a small price to pay for so many great additions.
Final Thoughts: The Movies: Stunts and Effects is simply a must buy for everyone who loved the original game and want to be more creative in their moviemaking.
