Finally, an actually good Matrix game where you can now play as Neo. This is the best Matrix game ever made.

User Rating: 8.8 | The Matrix: Path of Neo XBOX
Story: Well, basically it's the same story from all 3 Matrix movies and if you haven't seen any of the Matrix movies then there's something wrong with you. For those of you who haven't seen the movie, the story is the whole man vs. machine concept and the Matrix is a computer generated dreamworld. Just go see the movie.

Gameplay: Finally, a Matrix game where you can play as Neo. Yay! Well anyways, you play as Neo and you basically play out all three of the Matrix movies as well as some other things that weren't in the movie. Like the movie, you have your guns, your focus (bullet time), your kung fu skills and Neo's cool weird brand of special moves that he has in the Matrix. There are many guns..lots of guns (As Neo said) in the game. They range from pistols, shotguns, and many more. The gunplay is nicely complimented with the bullet time which is very satisfying and cool to look at. The fighting system is in a word kick ass. Well, you got your basic kick, punch and block stuff but what really makes it shine is the special attacks and the combos. Neo can shove an enemy so he can get a free hit on his opponent and then you can perform a special attack which is nicely complimented with a slomo finish. When you use focus (slow motion) when fighting, this will help you pull off some deadly and really cool looking combos that have a nice finisher at the end of it. By the way, you can also upgrade Neo with new moves, combos, and special attacks throughout the game. There are also some melee weapons you can use such as sword, staff, and many more that can also be used for combos that are just frickin' sweet. The levels are basically the same places from the movies and some that aren't like for example instead of just having that one Kung Fu training program like in the movie, they added a few more like this cool sword training program where Neo is a samurai/swordsman in feudal Japan and there's this other one that's a gun training program which takes place in an Asian restauraunt and is like some cool John Woo movie. It's just a cool approach to the whole training programs bit.

Graphics: Levels in the game are nice to look at, nothing special. The character models are pretty accurate at looking like there movie counterparts. Matrix fans will also appreciate the Matrix coded loading screens as well as the pause screen. It's also a cheat you can unlock later in the game called Code Vision where you see everything in code like the Matrix. Pretty rad, eh? Seeing a bullets ripples in bullet time is definetly a treat for the eye.

Sound: The music has a nice barrage of catchy futuristic techno tunes and whatnot. Sadly, for the voice acting it doesn't have the original cast of the matrix movies doing the voices except for Laurence Fishburne a.k.a Morpheus which is better than nothing I suppose. But, the voice likeness of the movie to game translation isn't bad at all. Like the guy who voices Neo really sounds like Keanu Reeves. The likeness is uncanny.

Replay Value: For this game you'll want to come back to it in at least a week or so. Whether it be to replay a favorite scene from any of the Matrix movies or to play for the hell of it. This is definetly a game you'll want to play over and over again but don't over play it.
