I picked up The Magic Circle on sale after seeing a short teaser for the gameplay and hearing some of the dialogue. The dialogue and general writing lived up to the expectation set by what I had seen, it's just a shame that there wasn't much of it. There is only one area of the exploration that has many secrets hidden about and enough to do mechanically that the puzzles were interesting. However upon completing this area, the game takes a very sharp left turn to its conclusion, where a new game mode is introduced and only used for this one, short section.
If either of these sections had more to do in them it would have made this game a lot better. As it stands it is a fun experience with some fantastic moments of writing that is playable in practically one sitting.
