User Rating: 5.5 | The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest PSP

Campaign:

The campaign in Aragorn's quest is divided into chapters. The campaign begins with Sam reading the story of Aragorn. You begin in Bree and end at the black gate. During the campaign you can get some new weapons and gear. During the campaign you are alone and there's no one to help you. There are mostly packs of three enemy's attacking you. During the campaign you visit the places from the books. The locations in the game have some resemblance from the movies, but not much. Don't expect the game's helms deep look like the movie helm's deep. The campaign is reasonable but has little replay value.

Game play

The game play is typical hack and slash. You can do a heavy attack, quick attack and some combo's. The levels are linear and you don't require much brain mass to get through them. You can also shoot with a bow and do some special attacks. But you don't have much variation in combat.

Arena:

There is also an arena mode in the game where you must fight against multiple waves of enemies. There are some challenges in each arena and when you complete them all you get an item that you can use. The arena's are not that hard and aren't really a challenge.

Soundtrack:

The soundtrack is from the LOTR trilogy. And is superb as always.

Graphics:

The game looks decent and It has an cartoon-ish art style. but there are many better looking games out there.

Conclusion:

If you are an lord of the rings fan or you want an hack and slash game you can consider buying this game. But if you don't then don't waste your money on this one, because it has little replay value, and you can finish playing it in one or two day's.
