For those that believe pc ports of 360 games are dire will be mistaken with this offering from Square Enix

User Rating: 9 | The Last Remnant PC
The Last Remnant is a jRPG and fans of the Final Fantasy series will be instantly drawn to it. It features the young Rush Sykes who embarks on a quest to rescue his sister from the clutches of a madman with mysterious powers caused by a 'remnant'. The game is a strictly turn based affair in battle and it is something that I am new to but it gets engrossing in no time at all. The game works much better with the 360 controller which seems to be true for most 3rd person viewed games. Rather than just controlling the hero, you control unions of soldiers. There are different classes of soldiers like the strong combat based units and then there are magic based units as well. You can customise your characters weapons fom the standard sword and shield setup to more deadly dual wielding sword configurations. There are a wide variety of weapons and they can be upgraded in return from materials gained from the spoils of the battles. The graphics look really stunning and have real artistic flair. The soundtrack is simply amazing and really suits the game. The games runs really well on a moderate machine and even better on more powerful machines. I ran it on a dual core with 4GB of memory and it ran fine at medium setting but when I played on my quad core the game just flew on all maximum settings. I would advise on getting this game even if you're not a fan of jRPG's as the gameplay will keep you enthralled. For those who like RPG's then this is a must. I played Final Fantasy in the past but got bored of it whereas The Last Remnant is less of a commitment, you can pick it up whenever, it's one player so your not payin for a subscription so it's not like you're missing out on something when you don't play like on FF where you have to pay to play. All in all I give this game 9 out of 10 and it has a worthy place in my collection.
