Most of the original KOF games are classics that came from the Neo Geo system. Apparently you can now play most of them on the PS1, PS2, hand held systems, and the Xbox. When I bought KOF 2002-2003 I didn't get much into the game. I only bought the game because I thought it was more like the Fatal Fury series. Despite the bad ratings most of the fatal fury games recieved I still enjoyed playing it in Arcades and for the Super Nintendo back in the 90's. KOF 02-03 is basically missing a few characters ( Duck King ) which was one of my favorites. He's been missing from all of the KOF games. The final Boss in 2002 is extremelly anoyying he is one of those bosses that does not really fight but uses the same repetive combination over and over just to win. Rugal is like Akuma from Street Fighter Alpha, they are both super natural types who can kill you in seconds. The fights are usualy short so you have to find a way to win easily which is not much possible. KOF 2003 on the other hand was the one I played the most. Terry Bogard is similar to Ryu which means he is SNK's mascot for the series even though he is from Fatal Fury. The second mascot is Kyo. As for the gameplay it might be a little hard at first especially if you have the Xbox version since the controller isn't built for fighting games, you'll probably have a hard time figuring out certain moves. Then again I've played several on both systems and the PS2 works better.

The music in 2003 is well done, while 2002 lacks in the music department. The action in both games feel the same but this does not harm the game at all. KOF 02-03 is a must have in your fighting game collection.
