Many flaws and confusing moments, but not without charm

User Rating: 5.5 | The Grinch PS
First off, this game is nothing like the book or films, really. The game does have you go around, performing tasks that will ruin Christmas for the Whos, but if you're hoping to re-enact moments from the classic cartoon or the feature length film, you won't find that here.

It's fun to be the Grinch, even in a flawed game. I compare it to being Darth Maul in Jedi Power Battles (another flawed PS game.) Smashing presents, vandalising the Mayor's posters, shooting rotten eggs in open windows, along with other in-game tasks can be fun, but they can also be incredibly frustrating. The main problem with this game is the difficulty. There's no doubt this game was targeted for kids, but it's just way to hard for that age group, or any age group for that matter. The game rarely gives any kind of hint of what you're supposed to do or where you're supposed to go. You can bring up your objectives when you press start, but you won't find a map screen or any further hints on where to go to complete or activate certain objectives. I can say this without exageration; if you have not either seen someone play through this game before, or go to the internet for help, there is a 0% chance you will complete this game before giving up from frustration. There are a couple objectives that when you actually complete (from mandatory internet lookups), you'll want to throw the controller at the tv for how impossible this goal would be to figure out.

The music is charming, at first. It won't take long before you're tired of it, and when you're wandering around a level, trying to figure out what to do or where to go, your frustration will reach a high point and you'll need to take a break; of about two weeks. I really wish the AVGN would do a review of this game, I can't do it justice.

So why the 5.5 rating? It's just the undeniable charm to the Grinch, I guess. I can't explain it
