A great game based on the popular movie series

The Godfather was a fantastic movie and usually movies that are made into games stink but this one was not one of those games.

The story doesn't follow the movie piece by piece but EA did a great job. The graphics are ok nothing to talk about and the same goes for sound it's like the average game for its time. The game is sandbox style which for those who don't know means free roam and the map is a good size, not GTA size but a good size. The game starts with your fathers bakery being torched and after a few fighting instruction you die. Then you take the part of Aldo (which is the name given but you can call him whatever you want) you can customize him in any way you want. The game is basically all about revenge. There are a lot of parts from the movie that's in it such as Don Corleone getting shot at the food stand, Sonny getting shot at the tollbooth, Jack Woltz's horse head in bed and a few others. There are film reels that are hidden in the city (kind of like the hidden packages in GTA) and when you find certain amounts you unlock clips from the actual movie which are really cool. The story mode is pretty long but my favorite part of the game is going around the city and taking control of the stores, warehouses, and rackets. You can also become the Don of NYC which is awesome but I'm a little upset you can't get the full tuxedo outfit that Vito wears. You can also hire bodyguards to take with you for a little extra help, you can bribe cops, and get upgradable weapons which make a huge difference.

Overall The Godfather is an excellent game that shouldn't be missed by fans of the movie or anyone that like action games.
