Mmm yes, an elder scrolls with actual combat ingenuity!

This game is so well-done, so polished, it's hard not to argue that it is simply one of the best single-player RPGs. The graphics are so perfect, everything done with such great texture and alignment, it's really eye candy. Actually, it's more like eye heaven... which sounds lame, but I had to say it. If you have ever played previous elder scroll games (especially morrowin), you may have noticed the tedious fighting and the less-than-satisfying effects you get from killing someone. Did I just smash the goblin over the head with a sledge, or did I just prod him with a stick? Who knows? I guess I'll have to look at the state his head is in... Oh wait... it didn't change. Anyway, Oblivion has completely done away with that, and they managed to sculpt a whole new feel to combat. It's actually satisfying and can be quite immersive. The gameplay is magnificent, though there were some glitches, and the game is prone to failure. But in the end, who notices those things when you have such a massive world at your disposal? A truly amazing game.
