User Rating: 9.5 | The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind - Game of the Year Edition PC
Lets talk about The Elder Scrolls.

It started on the PC in the late 90's with Arena and Daggerfall. From what i heard and seen, they look great. But what really introduced me to the world of The Elder Scrolls starts here, with
THE ELDER SCROLLS III: MORROWIND!

Morrowind was designed with an open-ended free-form style of gameplay in mind, with a lessened emphasis on the game's main plot. This choice received mixed reviews in the gaming press, but the outcome was well done.

I loved every minute of it. The exploring, the maxium amount of content, addicting gameplay, and to top it all of with great graphics for its time, and a wonderful music score, makes this a classic, which, eveytime i look at the casing, I go, 'oh yeah, good times.'

The game begins with your character, imprisoned for reasons unknown, arriving in the land of Morrowind, you arrive by boat in order to be pardoned. This will be a common thing throughout the main installments of the series.

While Morrowind contains many quests and storylines, the central plot revolves around the reincarnation of the Chimer hero, Indoril Nerevar. The incarnate of Nerevar, referred to as "The Nerevarine", has been prophesied to oppose and defeat the rise of the malevolent deity Dagoth Ur and the remnants of his followers. The whole games gives you a good variety of side quests, and story quests.

The graphics for its time were nice-looking. And considering that this is a open-world game makes it even more impressive for its time. And to top it off with an amazing soundtrack. If i had this playing on my MP3 i would be marching in my forest epically and ready for anything that stands in my way.

Of course, you can level up your character, whether its acrobatics or blade or fatique or magicka, or whatever! You got a huge amount of leveling up choices for its time, and let me be honest, you'll be playing this alot just for this one reason, leveling-up.

One major complaint for me is that some enemies can be difficult to kill at the beginning, its because you start off with this dinky blade you find at the beginning. So i suggest you find some gold, and buy yourself a better weapon. Also there is various gliches and crashes. Or on the XBOX, you have framerate troubles, gliches, and freezing issues.

Oh yes, which reminds me, which port should you get? PC or XBOX? Well, it depends on how powerful your computer is. If your computer is lets say an old Windows 98, with a bad graphics card. Then go with the XBOX. But, if you got a Windows 7, your basically A-Okay.

This is the game that introduce me and many to The Elder Scrolls. Morrowind is a classic that will be remembered. With the amount of content, its soundtrack, and its freedom to explore. Makes Morrowind one of the best.

But if you really want to hear about the best.........check out my Oblivion review later on.
