Great game with perfect control set up and good multi-player mode, but was a bit short and no local multi-player

User Rating: 8.5 | The Conduit WII
The Conduit displays what the Wii can do, but it could have been better. The story about the Alien attack on DC and the background to the All Seeing Eye (ASE) was well thought out. The story was structured in a good way to keep you wondering what is going on. Controls are perfect for everyone because you get to chose the controls and the layout of your HUD.

Since all buttons and motions are used between the Wiimote and Nunchuck, you will have to shake either the Wiimote or the Nunchuck to do something (defaulted to throwing a grenade and melee attack). This can cause problems. My screen started going haywire whenever I did a melee attack, so I had to change it to a direction on the D-pad. The nunchuck also seemed a little too sensitive since I ended up throwing a grenade while changing sitting positions. Outside of that, the controls work great.

The looks and graphics are amazing. They are very high end, and it is hard to complain about anything involving them. but, I did notice a few glitches that happened. On 3 separate occasions I saw Secret Worlds where the main floor should be. After a few seconds the floor appeared, but that shouldn't be happening. It was nothing terrible and did not take away from gameplay fun, but it did catch my eye.

The Single Player Campaign is really short. 9 missions that take you between 30 and 45 minutes each. So we are talking about a 5 to 6 hour time mark to complete the campaign. There is a least a bit of replay value with Discs and Hidden Messages to find in each mission as well as achievements and cheats to unlock.

Multi-playing is online only. you cannot hook up and have several people playing from the same Wii system. However, with the customizable character and a large number of multiplayer modes as well as a ranking system, the multi-player mode is great, if you have Wifi that is.

The only other comment I have the game is the story as a whole. It takes you through at a great pace, but with only 9 missions of story to tell, it went from the beginning to the end rather quickly with no subplots or anything to make it extra interesting. Without giving away any spoilers, I have to leave the ending to the story open without any comments other then I had a problem with it.

final pros and cons:
+ great control set up
+ Visuals
+ online multi-player
- lack of local (Single Wii) multi-player
- short story/campaign
- limited re-playability
