Possibly the greatest valued package on PS3 to date.

User Rating: 9.5 | The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena PS3
Riddick... cheesy, laughable, fun, amazing. When Escape from Butcher Bay was released it was one of the best first person shooters available. Offering stealth and fast paced action elements all in one package. Nothing has changed in the Riddick series, and it is still as great as ever.

Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena offers 3 main game points. The fun but short lived Multiplayer Mode, The brilliant and enthralling Escape from Butcher Bay campaign, and the new and improved Assault on Dark Athena Campaign. All equally as fun. All equally as unique.

The Multiplayer Mode- offers a great variety of weapons and maps, enough to keep a multiplayer shooter fan hooked for weeks, which leaves me asking the question: why is it so God Damned hard to find a server? I love the multiplayer, however, when I search for a server I'm lucky to find one! 99% of the time you wont find any! (on PS3 anyway). I hear on the Xbox 360 and PC there are plenty of servers for you to enjoy. A great side dish accompanying the two brilliant campaigns.

Escape From Butcher Bay- is as Masterful as it was before, but better. With the new graphical design Starbreeze made it look absolutely stunning. They also added slight tweeks to the gameplay engine, but not enough to change the overall experience. The storyline is compelling, which has you sneaking through dark corridors and claustrophobic vents to escape the prison of Butcher Bay. With both elements of hardcore stealth and fast-paced action Escape from Butcher Bay is reason enough to pay full retail price for the game.

Assault on Dark Athena- boasts an improved engine on Butcher Bay, but an overall more empty experience. However it is still great. Just like it's predecessor it has you once again sneaking through dark corridors and sliding through narrow vents. The only major difference is the environment and the pacing. I personally found the Prison environment in Butcher Bay better, only because you were trying to escape a prison, this made you feel more compelled to reach the end of the game and more rewarded once you do so. The futuristic space ship environment is still great none the less. The pacing is also quite a bit different, Assault on Dark Athena is much more fast paced and includes a lot more gun fight sequences that Butcher Bay, which features more stealth sequences. Personally i liked the stealth elements of Butcher Bay better, as they felt more rewarding at the end of the day. The Assault on Dark Athena campaign alone is enough to pay full retail price for the game.

As of March 2010 the game on runs $24.99 at local EB Games and Gamestops. For all three amazing elements this is an extremely small price to pay. And you'll feel proud once you do so. I would highly recommend The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena to all stealth/shooter fans, and newcomers the the genre alike.

Enjoy this great package that is defiantly money well spent.
