Test drive unlmited 2 is about luxurious cars, houses and... islands.
However, not everything is candy coated, the driving seems to be designed as half arcadish/half racing simulator, and therefore makes for impressive racing, but unimpressive results. another drawback is that on some races there are bumps in which you may jump, but at the end of a jump is a pole which the AI somehow always manages to outmaneuvere
and it dosent stop there, the game has no mercy for crashing into trees or other obstacles, and once again, half the time you will struggle to see whats around the corner. this could be for a variety of reasons, angle of the turn, pop in textures and other stuff that affects the screen will clash with gameplay
but once you learn how to avoid these deadly traps (and you will have to if you want to pass) the game offers a very fun and pleasant experience. not often do race games offer a large, immersive world which players can enjoy, and the abillity to customise your houses adds to the fun.
House customisation and free roam go hand in hand as the so called "social" component of the game, which still needs improvement. the free roam allows players to go to do missions (an easy but overrated source of easy cash) and find clothes stores, hair stores, and Cosmetic clinics
if you liked fuel and the free roam need for speed series, but thought they were a bit too arcadey (Could do 90 degree turns just by tilting your thumbstick right or left at 180mph) then this is the game for you, if your looking for more realism, turn to gran turismo 5.
