Terminator 3 is just the same as any other first person shooter. Nothing new to the genre.

Terminator 3 tells the story of the T-800 terminator robot and how he came to be on the humans side in the war between man and machines. He was captured by humans and reprogrammed. His original misson was to terminate John Connor as he would be the man that would lead mankind to victory. This is in the year 2032. Now the T-800 must go back in time to 2003 and save John Connor from another, more advanced terminator which has also been sent back in time to kill him.

The first 11 levels are set in the future and dont follow the story of the film. It is not until level 12 when you go back in time and follow the storyline of the movie. This game a fairly basic first person shooter but it also now and again has fights from a third person persective and is similar to games like Tekken and Mortal Kombat. Unfortunatley the combat system is too basic. You can kick, punch and throw your enemy. But this game is really a first person shooter and the fights are just an added extra which come up every so often. There are alot of bonus features to unlock in Terminator 3. You can view the cut scenes you unlocked throughout the game. Watch the making of the game, watch behind the scenes of the movie, watch movie scenes, play classic Atari games and even a demo of T3 Redemption. The picture quality may not be at its best when watching a movie scene but its still brilliant to watch especially if you are a fan of Terminator.

The levels set in the future have dull and dreary colours like grey and blue. This gets boring and not at all exciting. There is more colour when you get to the levels from the movie. The cut scenes show off the graphics the most. Arnie looks just like himself. Arnie also does his own voice for the terminator.

There are 23 levels on T3 rise of the machines. This may seem like a fair few but its not. The levels are short and are done in a quick time. There are lots of bonus features to unlock but with the game so short it wont take long to unlock it all. The T3 redemption demo looks brilliant and is sure to be an improvement over this.
