One of the best fighting games for any console!
Gameplay:
If you've played the previous Tekken games, you basically know what to expect here, which adds a pick-up-and-play feel to it for the hardcore Tekken fans. The original fighting engine was brought over, with some changes to certain animations and moves. This made the fighting a lot faster than it was. There wasn't so much time between animations like in the previous games, which picked up the pace of the battles. Like with every other Tekken game, its always better to fight against a friend. But, the A.I. is not dumb. It can pick up with your combos and tactics, and find ways to counter them.
Graphics:
Because this was a PS2 launch title, there was a lot of pressure. But, they came through with flying colors. All of the stages are very vibrant, and open-ended. All of the characters look very authentic, and their costumes are very detailed as well. And, I still compare every Tekken game to these graphics because they were really that good.
Sound:
I think this is my favorite part of the game. Although they can get repetetive, each level has an authentic soundtrack playing as you fight. They always fit in with the level design. The different attacks also sound ruthless as well.
All in All, this is one of those games they have stood the test of time in every way, shape, or form. The fighting system has stayed consistent, and the graphics and sound are up to par with all the other fighting they have come after it. This is truly one of the best games in history. If you've never played a Tekken game, this is a great place to start.
