Easily the best beat 'em up I've played for the Super Nintendo. Cowa-MF-bunga Beeeeotch.

User Rating: 9 | Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time SNES
Story: If you're familiar with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, they should require no introduction. Raphael, Donatello, Michaelangelo, and Leonardo take to the streets to stop Shredder, Krang, and their maniacal Techno Drome. I remember playing this game as a kid in the arcade. Kids would host their birthday parties at Aladdin's Castle in the mall. The employees would give each kid an entire roll of tokens and set us loose in the arcade. Good stuff... we'd play this game for hours. But eventually they released a near perfect remake of the arcade game for the Super Nintendo in 1992. You can even play 4 at a time if you have a multi-tap on the SNES!

Gameplay: Awesome 3-d beat 'em up gameplay with up to 4 players. You have your choice of which Turtle to be - Don wields a staff, Leo has a katana sword, Mike has nunchucks, and Raph has little knives. You can do standard attacks, jumping attacks, charging attacks, and special attacks. I don't recommend using the special attacks very much because it depletes your life bar signigicantly. Most levels scroll left to right but some are unique. In one level everyone is on jet powered surf boards in the sewer. Also, some items in the environment can be smashed and used as weapons. Furthermore you can throw enemies at the screen - a tactic you will eventually need to employ in order to beat the despicable Shredder. Overall great gameplay. 9 / 10.

Graphics: For being as old as it is, the graphics on this game are sweet. Even with all the action (sometimes up to 4 players) you can clearly see everything that's going on in detail. The Turtles, their weapons, and moves are easily discernable. The enemies are smooth looking and colorful. TMNT IV is polished, and not all pixelated. The environments vary and add to the appeal of this game's overall appearance. 9 / 10.

Audio: I would rate the overall quality of the sound in TMNT IV as par. The music and sound effects are on point and not annoying. The audio aspect may not add too much to the game itself, but it IS cool when they all yell Cowabunga at the end of the level.
7 / 10.

Controls: The controls are very sharp, but not perfect. Movement is very easy and changing directions quickly is no problem. You can also charge by pressing forward twice. Jumping is a little bit crazy and unpredictable. Overall very good though. 8 / 10.

Replay: A really good multi-player beat 'em up always has decent replay value IMO. You're friends will love playing this game with you at parties or get-togethers. There's also variable difficulty settings, so you can just play on a harder level or be a different Turtle if you get bored with it. With 4 Turtles in all it should keep you occupied time and again. 9 / 10.

Pros: Superb multi-player. Good controls and graphics. Tons of bosses.

Cons: Not a lot to complain about - Too easy??

Overall: Like I said, this is a near perfect remake of the smash hit arcade game. Very fun multi-player that supports up to 4 players. Certainly the best beat 'em up available on the SNES. You're friends will have a royal hoot with this one if you break it out at a party. 9 / 10.
