Wasn't as good as once remembered.

User Rating: 4.4 | Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: 1989 Classic Arcade X360
I remember playing this game in the arcade as a kid. It used to be one of my absolute favorites. I even bought the version that came out for the NES. So when I saw it on XBOX Live Arcade, I had to get it. With that said, I didn't find the game to be as fun as it once was. Mainly, because the game seemed to be a lot shorter than I remember. I know the NES version of the game was easier, and had a few more levels to it, but I don't remember the arcade version taking 30-45 minutes to clear. I think I might be generous with that estimate, because I might have beaten it even faster. I think the controls were a little quirky on the 360 controller, but that's just because I didn't play the game long enough to get adjusted to them. Also, they left the game in it's original state. They didn't try to smooth over the graphics, or didn't add any significant bonus material.
The game's fun, but way too short (At least compared to how long the game was I remembered playing it). For the amount of points you have to spend on this game (400 Points or $5.00). At the most I think I got about $1 or $2 out of this game. It should have sold for more than 200 Points, even though that's not the Microsoft standard on selling Arcade games.
If your a fan of the old game, than buy it. Just be warned that you might be disappointed if you haven't played it in a long time, and relying on your youth to remind you how awesome this game once was. The rating may seem too low for some of your tastes, but if you were to purchase or rent a game that took 30 minutes to an hour to beat, with little to no replay value, than what score would you give it? Is it a classic? Yes, most definitely! Did it's appeal and fun stand the test of time? Not in this gamer's opinion. It might be fun the first play through, and then you may never play it again.
