Team Fortress 2 is an online shooter, so instantly it requires an internet connection, and a medium spec PC.
Despite it's cartoonish look it gives the game a unique feel unlike any other online shooter you may play (for example, Call of Duty and War Rock) it gives you this whole new imaginative cartoon world setting which is really fresh.
You choose from many classes designed for attack, defense and support.
These include scout, pyro, heavy, sniper, medic, engineer, spy and soldier, each one has it's own unique weapons and support items.
For example, the engineer can build dispensers and sentries around the battlefield to help allies fight, he also wields a shotgun and small pistols.
The spy can disguise as enemies and can also turn invisible, he has a knife and a revolver.
As for the heavy, he has a huge amount of health and carries a very slow but strong chain gun, the classes vary from simple to complex, on the whole all classes are fairly balanced though, when you've grown tired of one class you play as another for a while..
Achievments unlock new weapons for each classes, examples include- 'get 5 headshots in one life as a sniper' they're simple but add reasont to replay stages and games over and over again.
Stratergy and teamwork are all imortant to the game but some maybe offended by it's unpolitically correct humour as well as not being able to play as a female.
But- if you not the sensetive type and enjoy shooters then TF2 is an awesome purchase that is fresh and fun, I highly reccomend it even better so with the Orange box for around the same price you can get Half-Life 2 and Portal as well!
