The beginning of tennis games

User Rating: 8.2 | Super Tennis World Circuit SNES
This game is the first respectable tennis game to be released and it proved that even though it is a sport like tennis, it can still be enjoyable. It introduced singles and doubles as well as tournament play.

Gameplay: Nice. This is truely what made the game enjoyable as you could hit various shots such as topspin, slice, drop and lob shots. The vollying also allowed to use stradegy to defeat your opponent as it can be used wisely to give yourself the upper edge. Also, your shots did not always land in and it depended where you were aiming the shot and the type of shot for it to land in. It did suffer a little as the serving was pretty much automatic to put in and nearly impossible to ace someone.

Graphics: Subpar. They could be better but they are good enough to get the job done. Nothing really notable here.

Sounds: Fair. You can hear them hit the ball and hear the umpire make the call but thats about it. No real fan noise and no special noises that catch the attention.

Value: First notable tennis game. This makes it very valuable because it is the only worth playing game until topspin for Xbox (and topsin 2 for the 360).

Reviewer's Tilt: People liked it but realised it was nothing spectacular. The game is fun to play but you can only play it so much before it gets redundant and trite.

Recommendation: Hey, if you are a tennis fan, pick up this one. It doesn't have anything to offer that topsin doesn't but it has all the basic, crucial gameplay to make it enjoyable.
