A simply awesome game. This is what retro gaming makes fun, it is still a great game even while it is over 15 years old.

Not very impressive, but the courts look nice and the characters each have their own look. The colors are very bright, and have a nice look overall. Some nice 3D-like cutscenes are nice too.

Pretty nice little soundtrack and the sound effects are quite good too. Don't expect anything outstanding though.

This is a tennis game at it's best. The gameplay still holds up very well, even today. The big difference with the modern tennis games is that you have to really time your shot, it makes all the difference. When your player hits the ball too early or too late, the ball won't go in the direction you would like it to go. There are four different types of shots you can use (with the four colored buttons on the controller): normal shot, lob, slice and topspin. Using the control pad and the L+R buttons, you can pull of any shot you'd like. The game is always challenging too, not because it is that difficult (although the learning curve is quite steep), it's because every opponent plays in a different way.
