A great update to one of the greatest fighting games ever
The gameplay is the same as it has always been, or tweaked depending on which if you toggle the remixed gameplay. This is a Very hard fighting game, if you haven't been playing for years your gonna get creamed. Easy seemed to be equal to most fighting game's hard to me, which is great for people looking for a high level of challenge like me, but anyone who's just started playing (or not using an arcade stick) is gonna feel extremely frustrated.
The sound is also extremely well done. The soundtrack's blaring guitars fit perfectly with the combat. All the characters still make the same grunts they've always made.
The graphics are just plain amazing. All sprites have been redone and really pop out, backgrounds are also just as detailed and colorful. You can use the old sprites if you want to, which is a nice addition.
The games online is extremely well done, there's virtually no lag whatsoever. There are 4 multiplayer types: Local Match, Scoreboard Match, Friendly Match, and Tournament match. Local is basically what it sounds like, you and a friend on 1 TV. Scoreboard match is basically the same as a ranked match, all matches count as everyone tries to become the best street fighter player in the world. Friendly match is your typical unranked match- you lose... no big deal it doesn't count. Finally there's tournament mode which is easily the coolest mode in the game. You and up to 7 other players all fight to advance in a tournament bracket. If you win you advance and fight someone else who won. If not you sit back and watch as others try to win, Its a very fun mode
Overall Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix is a wonderful piece of fan service for hardcore street fighter fans. The graphics are gorgeous, the sound is superb, and the online is smooth.
