I remember when Super Smash Bros. came out, mostly because tha was the only thing my friends talk about. They were always talking about how they beat Master Hand, or how they spend all night playing with their friends. I was so curious, all I wanted to do was play the most talk about game. I played it in my friends house and I was hooked. I played all night until my eyes shut. A month later I tricked my friend into trading me his copy of SSB for my strategy guide of Pokemon Gold and Silver. I erased the data and started playing the game and of course fell in love it.

Gameplay
The gameplay is very simple. Every character has three special moves, several smash attacks, a special grab, a taunt and can use the shield. Every character is unique and every ones has very different moves(exept Mario and Luigi, but how cares). Some are slow but strong, and others are fast but a little weak; and with its 12 playable characters(Four hidden), you will find a lot of variety. Also you can use different items like shells and fans. Also the game supports 4 player multiplayer. You can play against everyone or in tag team or even handicap.The multiplayer is the heart and soul of this game. In short words: it is a blast.

Graphics
For its time the graphics were outstanding. They are in 3D but you fight in 2D. You can recognize every single character at first glance and the stages are very detailed too. Also the game has some decent special effects.

Sound
The game doesn't have the most original soud effects but you can recognize the classic tunes from Zelda, Mario, Metroid and the other games. The sound effects are actually lame but doesn't hurt the actual game.

Closing Comment
even ig the game doesn't have all the bells and whistles of Melee and Brawls, the game is great. If yiu haven't played the original yet you should play it right now. It is that good.

    Only a 7.5?!?!?!

    What is wrong with GS? Super Smash Bros. does not deserve to get a 7.5! It should at least get a 9.0. This game is SOOOO cool!!! You'll never get bored with this game, especially when you play it with three other people.... Read Full Review
