The smashing game that started it all! Rating 9.3
Gameplay:10-Simple to learn attacks and beating Nintendo characters,who wouldn't love that,the game's gameplay is alot simpler than Melee and Brawl.Here you're not going to see smash attacks or final smashes here.only the classic special attacks and simple beat'em ups!It'll get tough to get used to if melee or brawl was your intro into the series,but it won't take long to finally learn the controls.The character roster is quite simple,you got your good old Nintendo favorites.You got Mario,Link,Samus,DK,Yoshi,Fox,Pikachu,and Kirby.Plus 4 secret characters for good measure that are pretty tough to get (well only 2 at least).every character has his or her own set of moves and different attacks,so you better start picking which character is your champ!!To say things short,WOW!!!!!
Graphics:8.0-The graphics are overall good graphics for something like the Nintendo64,but I noticed they had toned down the look of the game if you compare it to something like Mario 64 or Perfect Dark,well hey,you gotta take risks to make a great game.and it sure did pay off!
Story:6.0-Technically,there is no story,but I'm just guessing this from the intro and ending,some kid is playing with his Nintendo toys,having them fight each other.He's probably just using his own hand as Master Hand.and the ending you see the screen walk back and hear a door close which must make it a kid who plays with toys.This is just my guess,and this one I especially like it cause it treats Master Hand like a person's hand,not like an evil being like in Melee and Brawl.But the story is still mysterious.
Sound:10-Authentic game sounds,with the game's own actiony,fightey feel to each stage
Lasting Appeal:9.6-MultiPlayer is the best part of the game,singleplayer get's boring after a while,but you'll need to play it for 3 secret characters and a secret stage,oh yeah and 1 character you'll need to break some targets to get.But you'll be playing this game for hours,no days,no WEEKS to come!!!If you're gonna play this game,get your soda and coffee ready!
the good:great new feel for Nintendo after heading to unknown territory,Multiplayer rocks!!!!The roster feels right.
The bad:Singleplayer can get boring after a while,some target tests and platform bonus missions are super hard.
There will never be a fighting game as great as this (well,except for a couple :P)
