They say this game is officially a "rarity". They're correct in saying so.

Sorry for reviewing this game soooo late after it's release. Better late than never. I prefer to wait a while...it gives me suitable time to mull over how I truly feel.

I traded in this game a couple weeks ago. Why? Doesn't matter. But I was officially done with this game, after playing the bejezus out of it, and the guy at the Gamestop told me that this game is now "rare". His exact word was "rarity". It contributed a large portion towards my trade-in total. I'm sorry to say that 'Brawl' became nothing more to me than a literal paperweight after playing it for so long. I didn't get a Wii until everybody and their brother had one; I started playing the Wii when I moved in with somebody who owned one. They didn't own 'Brawl', so I bought a copy for myself. I can't express to you my excitement. This was merely a year or so ago. I was a late bloomer for this game. I took it home, and my younger brother and I played it like there was no tomorrow.

When did the fun end for me? Well, I was hell bent on unlocking Star Wolf since he was a childhood favorite villain of mine. If you don't know who I'm talking about, shame on thee. Anyway, Star Wolf is the character I am best at in the game. I owned everybody with him after unlocking every character in the game, but sadly this was my only motivation for playing.

The multiplayer in 'Brawl' is sufficiently hectic, to say the least. It does trump 'Melee' in every way, except that it feels less genuine. Yes, crucify me, but I mean it. It feels less genuine because you've been there! Sure, the battles never lose their unpredictable nature, but who remembers all the epic battles at Hyrule Castle on 'Melee'? They were much more epic. 'Brawl' does little to improve on it's tried and true formula. I would go as far to say that 'Brawl' changes very little. The graphics are better, there are more characters, and you can do a "Fatality" of sorts now. That's about it.

'Brawl', to me,' got very ho-hum after unlocking everything. If you own a Wii, and you own a copy, and you feel no shame in enjoying Nintendo's latest wallet-vacuum....keep your copy. If you're moving on to bigger and badder material, like an Xbox or Playstation per se, give it up. 'Brawl' is best left where it began: the update to 'Melee'. Enjoy it for what it is, because it's a hell of a lot of fun if you play with someone who can appreciate the characters who they are. If you get goosebumps from the thought of Star Fox and Wolf duking it out on the hull of the Great Fox, this game is for you.

As for me, 'Brawl' is a decent memory. I'm looking forward to the next installment. Just for your info...I think Master Chief from "Halo" would make a fantastic character. Also...Bomberman, Sora (Kingdom Hearts), Conker the Squirrel, and Mallow (Mario RPG) should all be valid candidates.
