The best fighting game on the Wii, and possibly the best Wii game

User Rating: 10 | Super Smash Bros. Brawl WII
Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the sequel to the GameCube's Super Smash Bros Melee and 2nd sequel to the Nintendo 64's Super Smash Bros. Like the previous 2 installments, the plot in the game is simple, Nintendo characters beating the hell out of each other. But unlike the previous games there is actually a story mode called The Subspace Emissary, it is very similar to the Adventure Mode in Super Smash Bros Melee but has a plot involving a powerful evil force that needs to be conquered, which includes numerous Nintendo characters joining forces, the mode is pretty fun, but I really wished they stuck with the simple theme of the Adventure Mode in Melee. Despite my mixed reactions for this mode, it has nothing to due with how I feel for this outstanding game. Like the previous game Nintendo favorites such as Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Fox, Pikachu and Samus return to action. While some new characters from Melee didn't return in this game (such as Pichu, Mewtwo, and Young Link) which like the Subspace Emissary I have mixed reactions for but it doesn't effect the game. There are some brand new characters such as Pit from the NES Classic Kid Icarus, Pokemon Trainer ( doesn't fight but he sends out either Charzard, Ivysaur and Squirtle), Zero Suit Samus, Wario and Olimar from Pikmin, and for the 1st time ever third party characters such as Solid Snake from Konami's Metal Gear Solid Franchise and Sonic from Sega's Sonic The Hedgehog Franchise join the brawl. The game has loads of items you can use to beat the hell out of opponents and now there is a Smash Ball that will appear in battles and whoever can break it first can unleash their very own Special such as if Bowser gets it he will turn to Giga Bowser for a short period of time or when Samus get it she will shoot out a large energy blast and her armor will come off changing her to Zero Suit Samus (if Zero Suit Samus gets the ball her armor will come back). It is also your choice on how you want to play this game, since the Wii focuses on Motion Controls you can use the Wii Mote and Nunchuck, but if you want to play it the old fashioned way you can use the Wii's Classic Controller or a GameCube Controller. The graphics are also a big improvement over Melee (not saying Melee's graphics are bad) and there are numerous stages that can be fought on as well. Trophy collecting also makes its return as well as collecting stickers both give you some very interesting info on Nintendo's history. Now the Wii might not be as powerful as its competitors which are the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and that its successor the Wii U is out, but Super Smash Bros Brawl is a great example of why the Wii is a console worth owning, despite its limitations. If you are willing to try out anything on the Wii I recommend choosing Super Smash Bros Brawl before thinking of getting something else, and trust me, you won't regret it.
