The once classic Super Robot Taisen A of the GBA finally gets the makeover it truly deserves now on Portable.

User Rating: 9.5 | Super Robot Taisen A Portable PSP
In my previous review of Super Robot Taisen (Wars as I might call it) A, I have mentioned a few faults here and there if haven't read it already. Now I haven't almost nothing but worthwhile praises here and there.

What shall I start off with...hmm...let's see... Ah yes, the fact that it's a remake means that Banpresto really decided to make a really rare game to find nowadays, first in the GBA series, somewhat flawed but have decent characters, and onto a PSP no less. A PSP of all things... Not that I have a grudge or anything like that, but even though I own one, it feels a lot more redundant as a console. What makes it worse was that any attempt to preorder this from play-asia or yesasia.com will result in my order being completely and certfiably REJECTED. Why? I live in South-West Wales, that's a "country" stuck right next to the mostly arrogant England that has an actual monarch and a Prime Minister that can't even keep our economy right these days. No bad girl! There goes my 5 hours of not mentioning politics down the drain.

So anyway, Why it was rejected? Because the stupid, greedy, fat-b@#$%*£ds t@#ts that is SONY decided to ban all PSP game imports and PS3 to countries like Iceland and all of the EU, that means me and others! So how did I managed to go around this ban? I just happen to be on holiday in HK awaiting for the time for this to come out, and it just so happens to coincide with the days near the end of my holidays. But I still think the Japanese should get another dose of pure British Brutality, the worse way that they treated British POWs back in WWII.

Let come to the crunch point. It is a very good remake. The gameplay has as much as the same handling as with many other SRW games in any consoles. The characters and robots have been given a nice makeover. Battle animations were good for a PSP game, the voice acting were close to the original anime as possible, they had the same female voice actor from the SRW OVA onto the game. The maps were also rendered nicely and were consistent from the old GBA. The music was remade better to suit the console. The difficulty is balanced well enough, the secrets to find were just about the same as you would play on GBA, so far. The best part? You can actually skip those annoying conversations or battle animations once it gets too tedious.

All in all, I'm never going to bother trying to complete the GBA version when I have something better and remade better.
