Straight forward boxing bliss.

Although others might disagree, I think that this game is still the funnest boxing game I have ever played. The main reason this is so is due to the fact that the controls are simple. Dont get me wrong, the game itself can be quite difficult and require a lot of strategy, but the controls themselves make it an easy one to pick up. The controls are done in such a way that you basically push the buttons in a first person manner. That is to say: if you want to punch with your left hand, you push the left most button, to punch with your right hand you push the button to the right of that. There is also a super punch button on the far right that can be used when your power builds up. Also, in order to punch with either hand, simply push the D pad up + the punch button. And thats it. You can also dodge or duck by pushing the D pad in the corresponding direction. Very simple. The cast of fighters is very nice. You have a broad range of opponents as you climb the ring to the top. However you can only fight the original character throughout the game. Each opponent requires a different strategy to be used in order to defeat them and the final two opponents will surely give you an old fashioned beating a few times before you can take them down. All in all this is an incredibly fun and addicting game. If it had the option to choose more than one fighter to compete as, it would have been perfect. But this is only a slight set back in an otherwise brilliant game.
