Super Metroid set the Metroid paradigm to the next level. All time greatest Metroid game!

User Rating: 9.7 | Super Metroid SNES
Having grown up during a time when console gaming began, I feel that this is probably the greatest game ever created. Super Metroid holds a special place in my heart for many reasons. The Super Nintendo (SNES) was an excellent system in it’s time. Super Metroid came out during the later years of the system and became the pinnacle of gaming on the SNES. This game overtook me with delight and has the best replay value of any game to date. At least once a year, I bring out this game and go through it from start to finish and received a different experience every time. New secrets are found and I understand why the Metroid series has such a large fan base. Nintendo has always produced quality games. Now that I am older my gaming taste has changed, but I am always looking for that one game that immerses me into a world of unknown pleasures. Super Metroid is my all time favorite game, so this review may be bias, but anyone with a interest in the Metroid series should play this game. Samus the bounty hunter begins her quest on the planet Zebes. The space pirates and Mother Brain are at it again with their biological warfare experiments. Samus must explore the planet and gain abilities that will help her destroy Mother Brain and the space pirates operations. The graphics, sound, controls, and replay value of this game are extraordinary. As you control Samus through the planet Zebes you obtain an arsenal of weapons and suit enhancements. Level layout in this game is a main contributor to how this game plays. You will begin in a level with only allowed limited access. When you advance in the game you will find yourself crashing through secret passages that bring you back to familiar territory. With so many excellent factors about this game, I want to touch on one more. Bosses are hideous and create a sense of awe in their design. Kriad, Ridley, and Mother Brain are large bosses and unlike most bosses are fun to fight. If you have never played Super Metroid and enjoy other Metroid games, do yourself a favor and play this game from beginning to end with no guide to assist you. I promise that you will not be disappointed.
