Fast paced, smooth and crisp platforming.

Good

- no time limit is nice

- having to just recover baby mario when you get hit is better than having only one or two chances after getting hit in old Marios is a way better system.

- visuals are charming

- enemies are cute looking with their facial expressions.

- the monkeys are funny and cute enemies.

- attack and movement animations feel swift and smooth. Very responsive. Being able to short hop and fall fast makes platforming fast paced without feeling clunky.

- animations overall are detailed, and organic.

- the egg shooting mechanic is fun. Eating enemies and turning them into projectiles is fun.

- it’s great being able to run at full speed without having to hold a button

- new items: rotating arrow ball

- the puzzles are a huge improvement from previous Marios

- fighting the boo in the pot was fun. Shy guys keep pushing boo towards you, and boo pushes you away. You have to dodge flames and keep inching boo towards the edge.

- i like the time limit they put on power up segments on the levels, like the submarine, helicopter, and digging machine.

Bad

- when yoshi jumps into a hollow platform, the game pauses to reveal the inside. This pause messed up my timing sometimes
