It's a classic game, revamped for a new generation.

User Rating: 9.3 | Super Mario Advance GBA
Younger gamers such as myself never got to play the NES version although, my mate has it. It's very different from other great Mario games. Don't expect Fire Flowers but prepare for... Vegetables? Yep, thats right, vegetables. However, the game makes up for it by adding more characters than just Mario. You can also play as Toad, Peach or Luigi. Birdo makes an appearance too, although not as a friend, but as your enemy. Remember, the NES version of this was Birdo's first outing. There's also a bonus version of Mario Bros. It's on EVERY Mario Advance. It kinda got boring after the classic Mario Advance 2. This SNES port of Super Mario Bros 2. (From Super Mario Allstars) is a must own for the Mario fan, GBA fan or well... anyone. You shouldn't get it if you hat Mario however.

Gameplay- 9/10
Well.... It's different from the classic Mario. For a start, you aren't in the Mushroom Kingdom, you are in Subcon. Which is a place in Mario's dreams. Instead of Fire Flowers, there are Vegetables and POW blocks. There are still Mushrooms, though. There are 4 characters to choose from- Mario, Toad, Luigi and Peach.

Graphics- 9/10
The sprites are really nice and are better than most games and this was a launch title. The backgrounds and scenery are well animated.

Sound- 10/10
If you own Super Smash Bros. or watch Mario parodies on sites like Newgrounds, then you'll recognise the songs, yes, you will. The tunes are really catchy.

Value- 10/10
Huge replay value and a Mario Bros. bonus game. quite good.

Super Mario Bros. 2 was a classic game on NES. 20 years on, it's had 2 remakes and has remained a classic. This version is the best however.
