Definitely not a game for the causal gamer
The Bad: Insanely hard, top down sections can be hard to play through
Anyone who has played Contra will know its not an easy game, and believe me when i say this, super contra is no different. This game is insanely hard, and im not ashamed of admitting i have trouble beating the first level and have yet to pass the first top down section.
The new look is generally impressive, the effects of when a guy gets shot is cool and the game looks alot better compared to contra.
Online this game is alot more fun, probably because you get further, it does feel as though you really need 2 players when you play through it by yourself as you constantly are getting over whelmed by enemies from all directions (even from above!)
For 400 points this game isn't bad and i was surprised that it was this good, i really wasn't expecting it. Sadly this game is way, way, wayyyyyy to hard and without a save system or infinite continues its hard to get all you want from the game as you will unlikely get far, even if you are playing with someone else. Another thing thats disappointing about the game is the top down sections, these dont look as good as the side scrolling sections and you feel alot more restricted in your movement which gets you killed alot more often. A WORD OF ADVICE!!!
If you cannot beat the first level on the trial version of the game i really wouldn't bother getting the full version as there's no point, believe me, the game doesn't become easier with the full version.
In conclusion this game is definitely only for the most hardcore gamers as casual gamers will not get far and will probably feel ripped off. If you are good on Contra then this is a must buy.
