A worthy purchase on the virtual console especially for Castlevania fans

Super Castlevania IV was an excellent game for the SNES and it holds up fairly well today. The game is quite difficult and can be frustrating at times. There also is no story whatsoever and the game experiences slowdown when things get hectic. But all these faults can be overlooked because the gameplay with the whip and platforming sections will keep most players entertained for at least 10 hours, it all depends on how good you are. The game is fairly short but with the steep difficulty it will feel longer because you will more than likely have to replay the same sections over and over. But there is a nice sense of accomplishment when you do get past those difficult parts. There are roughly around 13 stages and each one feels different so you will not become bored with monotonous level design. I recommend this game to Castlevania fans but if you didn't play this game back in '91 and aren't a fan then this game probably won't be worth your 800 Wii points
