Boring characters and awful AI

User Rating: 3 | Styx: Master of Shadows PC
Styx Master of Shadows is an action stealth game. Story ⅕ Uninteresting story and dialogs are awfully boring. Gameplay ⅖ We run slower than enemies. Enemies will search the area when they see us but they don't do it properly. There are some traps and dangerous objects. Some missions require that enemies don't find another dead ally. Level design is quite bad, too many rooms and objects to give us freedom and space but offers no rewards for clearing them. Enemies don't see us over a certain distance. They sometimes won't see us within 1 meter with nothing blocking their vision just because we're hugging the wall. There are some RPG elements but they seem to be pretty useless because the game requires some precise paths and solutions that don't need any stat help. Very simple puzzles. Some characters don't care about more dead bodies and will give up being alert. Enemies are teleporting. When we save after we leave a body that was found, the enemy will find it again. Replay value ⅗ We can collect coins, and there are some nice secondary objectives. Enemies are predictable after just watching them do the same things. Graphics ⅕ Ugly close ups, reused characters for main roles. Some reused maps. Enemies go through walls, get stuck on each other, sometimes get stuck on objects. Game is very dark in default. Music ⅖ Some voice-overs sound bad. Reused NPC dialogues and rants. How many hours to complete 10-19 One mission takes around one hour to finish, or less. Hardware requirements Low gaming How difficult Normal on Goblin (highest) difficulty Games similar to Styx Gameplay: Thief, Assassin's Creed Verdict 3/10 I was forcing myself to play. I was expecting something grander as I like of Orcs and Men but this nothing as good as that.
