streets of rage is one of those games you'll always remember. At the time it seemed it could never get better. now-a-days most people are into games like halo, grand theft auto, or the next "triple a game". But why waste your time with games that cost $50+ and have almost no replay value after beating it, when you can run down to a used game store and pick up a classic for $4.95? Streets of rage is about a city over taken by a crime ring . not even the police can help. the streets are violant with crime (hence the name "streets of rage"). basicly the story means nothing... now to the good part. you have a character selection between two dudes and some random girl they put in there so they wouldnt be sexist pigs... you start out in what looks to be a street with some bars and stuff, yeah no one cares... you run around and beat people to a pulp, hey what could be better! You get to choose from a variety of weapons which span from glass bottles to base ball bats (this was segas version of gta without vehicles, eh?) well you pretty much do that the entire game... may sound boring at first but its hella fun. you eventually kill the bad boss or something and yeah anyways its very fun so for the final question... pickup or rent? psh, are you retarded you cant rent genesis games anymore. so i say buy it cause you wont regret that $5 you gave up even if you dont like it as much as me:)
