User Rating: 8.4 | Street Fighter II' Hyper Fighting X360
Ok, so you wanna be a street fighter huh. Well that depends. How long have you been playing? People who had this game when it came out will be fine here. Other then the occasional lag the online mode sports some fierce competition, while the offline mode can be set to just about impossible difficulty.

The learning curve here is just as steep as it was when the original came out. Which no doubt will and has left alot of people upset. Street fighter II is surprisinlgy complex for how old it is. If you dont have the commitment youll likely end up frustrated and be disappointed you spent 10$ on this game.

But if you stick it out youll likely find a rewarding experiance. The online mode supports a few different ways of doing things. First there is the ranked matches. You can almost always find a willing opponent. You can look for a quick match up create your own or look for a custom match. After that you have the player matches, which supports the awesome quarter matchs (which could only be better if they were ranked.) In the quarter matches you can have up to 4 people in a room watching 2 fighters go at it, whoever wins stays and the next person is "up." This brings back the good old days of standing around the arcade machines watching how your opponents work and trying to deal with their tactics in your own way. In all the quarter matches are a great almost nostalgic experience.

The leader boards include rankings for most consecutive wins, who uses what character best, and overall leadership standings. If you look at your 'My Rankings' you can see what your skill level is how many matches youve won and lost your ranking and so on.

The controls are a little bit of an issue seeing as to how many fighters prefer the d-pad, but the xbox's is a little clunky for superior use. But again, with a little bit of commitment this obstacle can also be overcome and youll be fighting like a champ in no time. The rumble feature is a cool but not always needed/wanted.

The offline mode is insanely difficult. The game starts you out at normal difficulty but i suggest you turn it down a few notches to start off so you dont bust your 360 controller out of frustration. My biggest problem with the AI is that it just uses the same moves over and over and over again, so its not effective as far as training yourself for online matches, because your essentially having the same fight over and over again. There are multiple stratigies for each character but the comp seems to think 1 will suffice. Basically fighting in offline mode will only prepare you for one type of opponent so thats a little upsetting.

This retro title goes a long way to recreate the good ol days of 2d competition. Thats not too say it doesnt have its problems but nothing that cant be easily patched up by some quick updates. For that, my hats off too hyper fighting.
