The second instalment from Blizzard is a great sequel. Will leave you wanting more and will keep you hooked.

User Rating: 8.5 | Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm PC
Heart of the swarm took a very long time to be released, a pro longed beta to balance units killed the hype upon it's release, in fact I'd almost forgot it was coming out until the adverts started popping up days before it was finally released.

Having completed the campaign, here are my thoughts, I haven't played it online yet and if your after that, I suggest you find another review.

Heart of the swarm focuses on the Queen of Blades aka Sarah Kerrigan and her thirst for revenge on Arcturus Mengsk. Throughout the campaign you can see the personal battle she has, torn between her love for Jim Raynor and her hatred for Mengsk with the latter consuming her.

The gameplay is very familiar, and since I haven't played Starcraft 2 since I completed the Wings of Liberty campaign back when it was released, it was great and easy to pick back up and just play.

With the zerg campaign you to have the options to evolve (upgrade) units but while it might be fairly limited and I must admit I didn't really get the most out of it, it will allow those who really know the strengths and weakness of units to get the most out of your units.

Being a mainly Terran player, I found it very difficult to play the zerg and a challenging campaign having played it on Brutal. You have to be quick and know your builds to counter enemy forces as you will be punished for your mistakes. Kerrigan as a hero unit has some great skills that came in very handy taking out high powered units and her healing skill helped keep my army going.

As for the story is where I felt they did a fantastic job with both in in-game cut senses to the cinematic clips.

Blizzards has done an ok job at showing you the relationship between Sarah and Jim, and it makes me wish they did more but maybe in a form of mini episodes so they don't bore the death out of you people wanting some good old RTS action. It's hard not to feel frustrated but also sad at this, everything thing Jim has done for Sarah her she just throws it away but you can't help but see that her revenge for what Mengsk eats at her and you start to understand and just want to see that bastard die for everything he has done.

You'll see some familiar faces such as Valerian, Nova, Warfield and Horner to name a few, while they play small parts they are linked in well throughout the campaign.

Having completed the campaign, it will be interesting to see the final of the trilogy with the protoss, some questions have been raised, while I won't mention anything all I can say is, it's well worth playing the campaign.
