Gathering skills work against the players, there is little support for incoming new players

Little background, I played the level fifteen cap trial and was impressed so subscribed, now not so much impressed. Crafting in the game is a great, the rares are another story.
If your at adventure level 23 and a gathering skill of 140 and wish to craft a item two levels below, get this you have to dump your 'gathering skill' to zero and spend the time and money to raise it to just that level of the schematic,in order to get the couple of rares to make product. Your high gathering skill works against you(?). This can take days not to mention setting a player up to farm in newbie zones for cash.

Looking up on the Broker is going to break the spirit of any sucker of the free-to-play buying a sub. The skew of the game is toward twinks of those in the fifties, 6k for a level 9 rare is crazy considering you will level beyond the item just trying to farm for the 12k, (need 2pc to make).

All the talk of making the Old Republic a most community style game, this type of action kills crafting and brings up do we need another time sink game. The more I found out that I could not craft items to use and even to give to friends (who could blame them for leaving the game, one guy blew through 25k to get a rare at 20mins a mission nothing. Yeah gathering missions can take a while to complete)

I have an Artificer that makes light sabers and improvements. Every fifth mission I send my companions on I get the 'schematic' to learn to build light sabers. After learning from the first one, why in gods name does the game keep giving me more, going on hundred and twenty-three so far. Considering just about every Artificer I come across gets this item early around late first tier missions. You can not sell it to other classes, but by gosh they will not give you a rare to make the light saber worth a crap.

The crafting feels as if they thought millions would be playing, with many new players joining craft and such. Its not the case with so few crafters most people craft for themselves how many beginners do you know walk into a new game with in game money of a person who has played since day one. Sad part is that because there is so little first tier crafting, and no crafting till the fifties many of the newer players will burn out on the high cost being applied to them to feed the twinks. So in the end even non-crafter players get the time sink burn.

Only giving it the score on account of the PvP being okay.
