Chances are that Force Unleashed on PSP is probably the best of all versions of the game...

It's what we've all been waiting for, a new star wars game but does it live up to your expectations...?

First of all, the graphics are not really anything exceptionally spectacular for the PSP but character models/skins look really detailed and resemble the characters they represent off the movie/s perfectly!
The level design is wonderful and the overall presentation is great but there are a couple of visual glitches here and there.

The one great thing about this game which makes it new to any star wars game before it is the great interaction with the surrounding world. In game you will use the force to pick up and manouvre many various, different objects to either help you gain access to areas or use against the enemy. The great thing about it is how accurate the physics are. You could pick up an object, throw it and it will fall or roll in a very realistic/lifelike manner.
This goes also with when you balance an object (in game) over the edge of something. It will waver a bit before sliding and tumbling to its fall.
Rag-doll physics are present also in game which is quite a bonus but seeing as fallen enemies will "evaporate" after a couple of seconds, it makes hardly any significant difference.
There is on the whole, a very destructive and interactive environment.

It is said that Force Unleashed has God of War style gamplay. This is not entirely true but in some aspects, this game does feel reminiscent to GOW, especially during those quick button sequences and the fact that you slash your way through enemies for the most part of the game.

The game mechanics are overall good. There are some nice smooth movement transitions and a flowing frame rate. The game is also rather responsive in the button department. One nag which must be pointed out is the camera. Instead of having a simple behind the character or rotatable cam, you get this terrible camera which controls itself and that on numerous occasions obscures the action and enjoyment and will also just prevent you observing your surroundings, looking around for enemies: etc.
Luckily you can press the right shoulder button to centre/reposition the camera but for the most part it is rather frustrating having an uncontrollable and quirky camera.

The controls are fairly basic and easy to pick up but perhaps a little too simplistic at times, especially when you are constantly mashing the Square button to slash your light-saber.
Luckily this is easily ignored thanks to the great fun you can have with the force.

One thing which is good about this game is the AI. The enemies are pretty much alive and will do anything in their power to kill you and they do it well most of the time. They do some stupid things sometimes such as running into a wall but they are alert, aware of your presence and prepared to kill you!

Music is as good as ever, predictable star wars game music and the sound effects are no exception. Great explosions, gun fire and saber slashing to be heard at high quality in this game.

The PSP is almost definitely has the best version of the game over all the other consoles with its extra game modes. They increase the replayability of the game as well as the overall enjoyment you will receive from the game.

On the whole, Star Wars Force Unleashed is a "perk up" for the series, unfortunately though, some problems which were identified in previous games were not eradicated in this but overall the great presentation, awe inspiring physics and addictive game-play on the whole makes Force Unleashed a fun gaming experience!

By the way, What I don't understand is why gamespot critics complain about the load times. Don't they appreciate that there are so few load times; that the loading is over and done with at the start and so therefore there is little lag and no loading screens popping up throughout game-play!
Honestly!
