The exciting story of the Star Wars series mixed with the solid RPG style of game play.

User Rating: 9.4 | Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic XBOX
The game is set 4000 years before the orignal Star Wars series and is packed with the same goods that the Star Wars series is known for. Everything about the game is terrfic, exciting plot, different powers and feats to optomize your character and party, deep character side stories, and quality action.

To start off. the graphics on the game are above average and really shine in the showing of the lightsabers. Detail in the clothing and worlds could be better but it does not hinder the overall presentation

The sound is one of the high points of the game. The game does not recycle the old soundtrack that was done by John Williams but has new scores that fit well with the game and the story and flows nicely. It is orignal and yet gives you that classic Star Wars feel.

The gameplay of the game is another highlight. It uses classic rpg style playing with a level up system that involves increasing one's feats, skills, attributes and later on force powers. One is also able to choose a class such as soilder, scout, and scoundrel which differ and a player can choose to their own prefernce because they have unique skills and qualities. This also goes for jedi classes that match similarly to the first 3 classes. There is a wide variety of feats that affect one's style of playing. You can make your character one who does not fight but can persuade there way of battle or charge head on into the battle with full force. Their is also a wide variety of weapons that go from range to melee and different armor that can help you chose how to fight certain enemies.

Because the game has a intriguing storyline and allows the player to chose different paths, classes, and style of play, you'll find yourself playing the game over and over again to see the different endings and plots. The game the first time around can lead to over 30 hours due to unfamiliraty and listening to all of the dialouge which has some great voice work, such as HK-47 and Kevin Michael Richardson vocing Jolee Bindo. But after the first few times through, you might not want to listen to the dialouge which can shorten the game to 20 hours.

Overall, KOTOR is not only one of the greatest Star Wars games but one of the best games all times and uses the liscense well and does it justice. A compeling story and gameplay make it a must buy for any video game fan. With this I recomend the sequel which improves on the gameplay allowing for higher leveling up, more feats and better character optomilzation but lacks the quality story but leaves you waiting for KOTOR 3
