Somewhat Underestimated

Probably depends on the fact that I am a Star Wars nerd, but it's just not that bad. It's not a good game, that's true, but neither is it a complete disappointment. The fact that the boring love scenes from the movie is excluded almost makes it worth playing.

In the game you get to play as Obi-Wan, Anakin Skywalker and a short level as Mace Windu. Of course, the only difference between these three is their appearance, so don't sit and wait for the short level where you're handling the purple lightsaber. The combat system is a little hard to handle, mostly because of that you can't move while fighting. This system is a bit hard to get into, but eventually it'll work for you and the first couple of levels will be a bit interesting, but eventually you'll tire of the infinite dullards that are trying to attack you from every direction just to be easily cut down.

The force effects aren't very impressive either. There's a force jump thingy that will be crucial for a Geonosis level with Obi, there is a push attack that lets you take down enemies from a distance, and a sort of kill em all attack that you can execute when you've ¨gathered¨ enough force icons. None of these are extremely impressive though but works quite nicely in game.

The real impressive part of the game is the 3D levels where you get to pilot an airspeeder, a jedi starfighter and a republic gunship. For being on the advance they work quite ok though they're not that advanced, they usually makes you go from point A to point B trying to survive on the way. Still they make the game somewhat varied which is required for a game like this.

And eventually you get to face of Count Dooku in the mandatory lightsaber duel, which probably isn't the strongest point in the game, but is at least slightly more interesting then fighting of the mindless drones that you've encountered so far with the exception of Jango Fett. This probably won't interest anybody else then a hardcore Star Wars fan, which I'm hardly alone of being, but even if you are it's not worth buying, just borrow it from your younger brother who got it for Christmas. However it's not horrible if you manage to get used to it, you just probably won't pick it up more then once.
