More Disappointing Than The Movie It Was Based On.

Ok, admittedly I was one of J.J. Abram's harshest critics when it came to the actual Star Trek movie. I had hoped at least that the fresh take on Star Trek might liven up the incredibly awful Star Trek video game market. I was disappointed on both accounts. Sadly, I found the amature web-based Flash game "Flash Trek 2" to be much more entertaining and engaging. Really, DAC was nothing new. It reminded me of Star Trek: Encounters only with much more awkward gameplay. It was a top-down view, where the player sluggishly pilots a ship in a duel with the Romulans. From a nerd's perspective, the continuity was way off. The Romulan ships didn't even resemble the classic TOS ships. We also didn't see any familiar designs on the Federation side other than the Enterprise. Do the people developing Star Trek games even try? Not worth the download. Not even worth the time wasted on a free demo download. Not worthy of the name "Star Trek."
