User Rating: 9.1 | Star Fox: Assault GC
Despite its original childish appearance, Star Fox: Assault allows for solid gameplay. Having never played any of the other games in the series, Star Fox: Assault was a surprise to me. I figured it would be just kind of a nice little game when I got sick of all my other games. Surprisingly, it was a good game on its own!

Why did I rate as I did? Let's take a look...

GAMEPLAY: 9/10

Star Fox: Assault's controls are relatively easy to master, but challenging to perfect. This provides for both excitement and frustration.

GRAPHICS: 9/10

Although rather cartoon-y, Star Fox: Assault's graphics are better quality than some games'. Let me give you an example: I'm afraid of heights. I've never been afraid of heights in a game before, right? Well, not anymore. Some of those graphics are surprisingly realistic.

SOUND: 8/10

One of the lesser sections of the game, the sound effects are good, but the music is repetitive at best and unimaginative at worst.

VALUE: 10/10

One of the best parts of this game is the multiplayer VS. mode. It's just a gift that keeps on giving. The more you play in VS. mode, the more additional maps, rule sets, playable characters, and weapons you unlock. There's a surprise around every turn.

REVIEWER'S TILT: 9/10

What can I say? Star Fox: Assault surprised me. I felt like buying a sort of fall-back game, and I got a truly addictive little monster. It's storyline isn't the most engaging, but it provides background to the violence, unlike most games. As a whole, this game was a great bit of luck on my part, and I'm happy I felt like taking a chance and buying it!
