Provides a bit of enjoyment, but overall disappointing for hardcore fans of the original.
SF:Assault tries to breathe some life into the gameplay by adding an on-foot mode, but did a pretty bad job of implementing it smoothly into the game. The arwing missions are few and far between, and have been slowed down quite a bit for casual gamers. Couple this with a droning soundtrack, stupid plotline, and horrible dialogue, and you've got a game that doesn't live up to fan expectations. The game is quite short and can be finished very quickly. Typical of a Starfox game, although games of today's standards ought to be at least 20 hours in length. The multiplayer has some pretty bad music, but an overall satisfying party experience if you've got a few friends over. This isn't the game diehard fans of SF64 have been waiting for, but it will provide a bit of enjoyment for those who are new to the series.
