WOW! I bought this game at a pawn shop for a buck and it had to be the best purchase I made for the money I've ever made. Considering it's on the N64, it does deserve the score I'm giving it when you think about what these people had to work with. The graphics pump the N64 to the best possible for the onscreen action. Every planet you go to has it's own feel and complete diversity. I can't even tell you how many hours I have into this game. Almost every planet has it's own secrets for you to discover, some harder to find than others. The amount of outcomes is pretty sweet. Going one way will cause you to go to another planet, fight a different boss, go into the same planet differently, or combinations of them all. You can get medals for each planet for doing awesome enough. Surprisingly, these are pretty hard to get without being absolutely ridiculous. You have a number of aerial moves, different depending on what mode the R-Wing is in. Every manuever is useful. Your allies will live or die depending on whether you help them out, do good, or do bad. They also give you tips on how to avoid things, destroy things, or find secrets. If I divulged everything I want to say about this game, it would become a massive 6 page review paper nobody wants to read, so I'll keep this short this time around( my reviews are usually a little long. ). The story is as good as it can get for this kind of game. The gameplay controls and mechanics feel natural and easy to use and get good at. More than one possible ending for each planet. Enough replay value for you to play it every day for an hour and not get bored. The sound keeps you enthralled into the game like the timeless arcade games of yore( yup, yore.) This game has pretty much nothing wrong with it and everything right. 9.5 out of 10.
