While there's no obvious drop in quality from this game's predecessors, Spyro 3 just kinda felt like it stayed the course too much. There aren't too many new ideas that feel all that fresh in YOTD. It adds a few new characters, but honestly all that amounts to is more minigames; which is what Spyro 2 already did for the series before YOTD came out. Keep in mind, it's still a rock solid game that retains the Spyro series' fun and enjoyment. But at the end of the day, Spyro 3 only delivers exactly what you'd expect from a Spyro game and doesn't go far above and beyond that. Take it or leave it. I'd say take it because you ain't gonna get much from the newer Spyro games anyway...
