When I first played this game at about 3 and a half years old. I was addicted. I loved this game so much that I would play it for hours a day. My parents even made it a rule that I could only play it for 1 hour a day, but I found ways to sneak extra playing time. When you start Spyro the Dragon, you are treated to a silly cutscene in which a dragon makes fun of an ugly beast named Gnasty Gnorc. Gnasty Gnorc then gets mad and Freezes all the dragons into crystals, but he forgot about our favorite little purple dragon, Spyro. You start in a small homeland called the artisans homeland. From here you have to go around freeing dragons and collecting gems. Sometimes gems will just be lying around to be picked up or sometimes you'll have to kill gnorcs to get them. after you're done, you get to head into a poortal that takes you to a level. In this level you can kill many enemies and free dragons. The enemies can vary from bulls to bison to metal turtles and maybe even gnorcs in the military! When you finish one level you can fight your first boss named toasty. The bosses can be as simple as flaming them to as complicated as breaking metal poles. Another type of level are the flight levels. In these levels you fly around and flame stuff. You can get 300 gems from each level but there are no dragons to be freed in these flight levels. After you have freed 10 dragons, you can go to a balloonnist. The balloonnist can take you to any of the 6 homelands, each homeland has 3 levels, one flight level, and one boss level. One aspect of the game I have not talked about yet is the music. The music is composed by Stewart Copeland and it is the BEST music in any game I've EVER played. The music matches the enviroment PERFECTLY. So, if your looking for a fun 3d platformer, look no further than Spyro the Dragon. :)
